The automatic gearbox sumps are manufactured from plastic which can warp over time. This causes the fluid to leak hence renewal of the transmission filter is recommended even though the main dealers class the transmission sumps as a lifetime part. Jerky gear changes and miss shifts are usually a sign that a transmission service could be due. We also recommend a transmission service before tuning your car so you can get the most out of it!
